Here’s one of those winner stories that makes you stop and say, “No way!”
A Nebraska woman was driving through Iowa when she stopped at a truck stop and bought a couple Powerball tickets. Neither of them won a prize, but that’s definitely not the end of the story!
On her way out of the truck stop, she decided to have her fortune told just for fun by a “Weight of Fortune” machine. The fortune she received said, “This is your lucky day.”
She went on her way, then stopped again in De Soto, where she bought a “Crossword” instant-scratch ticket at the local Kum & Go c-store. And after scratching the ticket in her car, she realized that her fortune had come true: She’d won the game’s top prize of $30,000!
Violet Cook of Omaha, Neb., admitted to being in shock as she claimed her prize Monday at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines. She said she plans to pay bills, buy a car and give some money to her children with her winnings.
Sounds like we all need to have our fortunes told!

IALOT to 97063 for IA Lottery messages!
How dare a Nebraska native win a $30,000 prize earmarked for a Des Moines area win?I suppose now wins earmarked for other areas of the state will be "hijacked" and returned to the Des Moines area to make up the loss!
