See you at the Fair!

The countdown to the Iowa State Fair is in its final days! We’ll all soon be eating food on a stick, riding the rides at the Midway and enjoying all of the Fair’s exhibits. And those of us at the Lottery also will be working at our booth in the Varied Industries Building, so we hope you’ll stop and see us!

We’ll have some of the coolest contests and prizes ever for our players!

Tops on the list will be “Winning Wheel” contests in our booth that you can enter for the chance to win “Lottery Buck” coupons for free lottery tickets. Players can enter the contests with nonwinning scratch tickets priced at $5 or more. Three times a day, at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., we’ll select three players’ names to spin the Winning Wheel. The wheel is filled with different prize levels of coupons. Each contestant will get to spin the wheel two times, with a chance to win up to $200 in Lottery Bucks. Some contestants also will be entered in a final contest with a grand prize is $500 cash.

We’ll also have bunches of “If it feels good, scratch it” T-shirts with us. Players who buy $20 or more in instant-scratch tickets will automatically get to take home one of the T-shirts!

And one more thing: It’s our “Get caught with a dot” promotion for pull-tab tickets. We’ve put special stickers on some of our pull-tabs. If you find a dot on one of the tickets you buy, you’ll win a prizes! A yellow dot is good for a “Good Clean Fun” lottery stain-removing stick. Hey, what do you need more at the Fair than a stain stick to help clean up your clothes from those stains that sometimes just seem to appear out of nowhere?

If you get caught with a blue dot on your pull-tab, you’ll win a deck of “Deal Up Some Fun” playing cards. And if you get caught with a pink dot, you’ll win a $5 “Gobble It Up” coupon you can use at the Iowa Turkey Federation’s food stand on the Fairgrounds.

We’ll also be reminding people about our “Win the Powerball Patrol Car” promotion that you can enter through Aug. 24. We’ll have the car in the booth with us so you can get an up-close look at it!  Players can use nonwinning $5 Powerball + $5 Power Play tickets ($10 value) to enter the promotion online at www.ialottery.com.

We’re also coming right up to the end of the “Win Big or Go Home!” promotion, so we’ll be sure to remind players to send in three nonwinning Win Big or Go Home! scratch tickets in the second-chance envelopes that are available at retailers. The promotion’s MVP winner gets a Chicago baseball getaway and $1,000 cash!
