The “A 10 Hut” scratch game started sales Jan. 3 while the “Veterans Amazing 8’s” pull-tab game is going on sale today. Proceeds from the sale of tickets in both games support veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. The games’ tickets feature the logo of the Veterans Trust Fund so you can easily tell they’re dedicated to that cause.
These games provide between $2 million and $3 million in proceeds annually for the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. Your purchases have helped the Lottery raise more than $12 million for the fund since 2008!
The Veterans Trust Fund was established to provide state help to veterans and their families. Those interested in applying for assistance through the fund should contact their county V.A. representative or the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs in Johnston.
Currently, the Trust Fund can be used for:
• unemployment or underemployment assistance due to service-related causes;
• assistance with vision, hearing, dental care, durable medical equipment and prescription drugs;
• counseling and substance abuse services;
• housing repair;
• and transitional housing in an emergency.
