Our week started out with a bang yesterday when we got to meet our newest $100,000 prize winners in the “Game Book” scratch game. Andrew Deters and Leslie Navarra are an engaged couple from Camanche who just bought their first home and are planning their wedding in June. Their big win definitely came at a perfect time! Congratulations, Andrew and Leslie!
But then there’s the story of a $10,000 Mega Millions® prize that’s down to its final hours. We blogged out it last month, but here’s another reminder: Someone bought a Mega Millions ticket in Clear Lake that won a $10,000 prize in the drawing on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. The prize has never been claimed, and its time is running out!
The winner or winners have until the close of business tomorrow (that’s 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013) to claim the prize at one of our offices. We have offices in Council Bluffs, Storm Lake, Mason City, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. If the prize isn’t claimed by the deadline, it will expire. The money from unclaimed prizes here in Iowa goes into our prize pools for future games and promotions, so it will be given away to players. We just don’t like to see any of our prizes go unclaimed!
The $10,000-winning ticket was purchased at Kum & Go, 2325 Iowa Highway 18 E. in Clear Lake. It matched four white balls and Mega Ball to win a $10,000 prize in the drawing on March 20, 2012. The winning numbers that night were: 1-4-6-11-14 and Mega Ball 30. The Megaplier® number was 4.
