A lucky Powerball player who bought a ticket at the Kum & Go at 2050 Iowa Highway 38 in Tipton came close to winning a share of the $130.3 million jackpot in the Nov. 16 drawing. The Tipton ticket matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball that night to win a $1 million prize. A ticket sold in New York matched all six numbers in that drawing to win the jackpot.
We've spread the word about the Tipton ticket, but so far, we haven't heard from anyone who might be the big winner (or winners). So this week, we worked with the store to put up a big banner in one of its front windows. If the winner hasn't heard the good news so far, hopefully our prominent reminder will get the message across!
The winning numbers in the Nov. 16 Powerball drawing were: 10-29-37-44-59 and Powerball 10. The Tipton ticket was one of five across the country that each won a $1 million prize that night.
Prizes of $1 million that are won in Iowa must be claimed at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines. If you're the big winner and you have questions before coming in to claim the prize, feel free to give us a call at 515-725-7900.
There's still plenty of time for this prize to be claimed - Powerball prizes in Iowa are valid for 365 days from the date of the drawing in which they were won. We're just doing our best to get the word out while the news is still fresh!
