If you’re at the N. Iowa-Iowa St. football game on Saturday, look for us on the field during the first quarter!
The Iowa Lottery and the Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs have been invited make an on-field presentation during the game in Ames to highlight our efforts to help Iowa’s veterans.
I’ll get to present Lt. Col. Todd Jacobus of the Iowa Army National Guard with a ceremonial check representing the total amount the lottery has raised for the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund since our games to help veterans debuted in 2008. Jacobus is vice chair of the Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs.
Kick-off for the game is set for 6 p.m. Saturday and our presentation will be sometime during the first quarter. And maybe the coolest part of all is the proceeds total we’ll be able to share with the crowd: With your help, the Lottery has now raised nearly $5.6 million (our latest totals show we are up to almost $6 million) for the Veterans Trust Fund, which directly benefits Iowa veterans and their families!
So the next time you’re at a lottery retailer, look for the Trust Fund logo on select games and ask for the lottery tickets that help Iowa veterans!
