Same Pick 3 Numbers Drawn Back-To-Back

Something that looks a little strange just happened in our Pick 3 game. The same set of numbers was drawn back-to-back in Tuesday's evening Pick 3 drawing and then again in yesterday's midday Pick 3 drawing. The lucky combination? 0-8-7.

If you aren't familiar with Pick 3, it's a numbers game with smaller odds than Powerball® or Mega Millions®. Pick 3 prizes also are smaller, but they're easier to win.

And while it may look unusual that the same set of numbers was drawn twice in a row, it really was just the luck of the draw. The same drawing and security procedures were followed like always, and everything proceeded normally in both drawings.
 
The odds of any combination of numbers being drawn in Pick 3 is 1 in 1,000. And you might think that the odds would be astronomically high of the same set of numbers being drawn in back-to-back drawings, but the odds are still just 1:1,000. That's because the odds are the same from drawing to drawing.

So, we all can call it weird, unusual or a fluke, but everything was normal and checked out. What we'll really have to see is whether 0-8-7 becomes 'the' lucky combination in Pick 3!

Twenty-three tickets in Iowa won prizes of $50 in Tuesday's evening Pick 3 drawing, while 26 tickets won prizes ranging from $50 to $300 in yesterday's midday Pick 3 drawing.

There have been other interesting coincidences in Pick 3 games around the country. For example, the winning combination of 9-1-1 was drawn in New York on Sept. 11, 2002, the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
  
Here's the background on Pick 3: It's been offered in Iowa since July 1998 and has a top prize of $3,000 with odds of just 1:1,000 of winning it. Plays in Pick 3 range from 50 cents to $5 for the chance to match a three-digit combination of numbers from 000 to 999.

There are several ways you can win in Pick 3. For example, you can choose a straight play, meaning that if the winning numbers are 1-2-3, you'll win a prize for matching that combination exactly: 1-2-3.

Another option is to choose a box play, which means you can win for matching the winning numbers in any order (if the winning numbers are 1-2-3, you can win for any combination of those numbers, such as 3-2-1 or 2-3-1). You also can choose a straight/box play, which allows you to win for matching the numbers in the exact order drawn or in any order.
 
Pick 3 drawings are held Monday-Saturday. The game's midday drawings are at 12:40 p.m. while the evening drawings are at 9:20 p.m.

How come i hardly get the free coupons very month? I thought if we belonged to the Vip club we would get them.It seems every other month i get them while alot of people get them every month and i play all the games,even pick 3 and pick 4 every day.
