I think we all remember The Shipping 20 winners at the plant. Afterall, they did win the biggest lottery prize ever in Iowa with their $241 million Powerball® jackpot back in June!
Well, in the flurry of winner news we saw in our lotto drawings last Wednesday here in Iowa, someone who bought a ticket at a convenience store in Hiawatha won a $10,000 Powerball prize. That prize now has been claimed by a group of workers at the Quaker Oats plant calling themselves the Quaker 50.
Technically, the group won a little more than $10,000 -- $10,004 to be exact. That’s because the group won on more than one play on its ticket.
Bret Naber of Hiawatha claimed the prize on behalf of the Quaker 50. I’ll bet the plant is abuzz again with winner news!
We’re still waiting to hear from our biggest winners from last week: Someone won the $202.1 million Powerball jackpot with a ticket purchased in Bondurant and a $1 million Powerball prize was won that same night in Williamsburg. If you’ve got a ticket at home, double-check it! You never know …
