First came Bondurant’s big Powerball winners. And now the central Iowa community of about 3,900 is seeing another round of lottery luck … but not how you might think.
Bondurant City Administrator Mark Arentsen was playing at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny when he decided he needed a little extra luck on the 158-yard, par 3 hole No. 6. So he got out a golf ball with the Iowa Lottery logo on it. And wouldn’t you know it? He got a hole in one!
Now, we’d like to take all the credit for his lucky shot, but we’re sure that golf skill came into play, too. For his part, Mark is as surprised as the next person by what happened. But he says the most amazing part of the story is that he’s now got people asking to play golf with him. I guess his legend is spreading! Congrats, Mark!
