There’s more lucky lottery news in Iowa! Someone who bought a Mega Millions® ticket at a Des Moines supermarket won a $1 million prize in Friday night’s drawing. The lucky ticket, purchased at Dahl’s at 4343 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines, came close to winning at least a share of Friday’s $87 million jackpot, matching the first five numbers but missing the Mega Ball. No one matched all six numbers to win Friday’s jackpot, so the big prize climbs to an estimated $100 million annuity ($57.9 million cash option) for tomorrow night’s drawing.
Friday’s winning numbers were: 13-29-34-37-72 and Mega Ball 6. The Megaplier® number was 5. The Des Moines ticket was one of only two across the country that won a $1 million prize in Friday’s drawing, with the other in California. Neither ticket had added the Megaplier option, which would have multiplied the $1 million prize up to $5 million.
Prizes of $1 million must be claimed at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines. The lottery’s offices were closed over the weekend, so today is the earliest that the winner – or winners – can claim the prize.
If you’ve got the winning ticket and you have questions before coming forward to claim the prize, feel free to give us a call at the lottery at 515-725-7900.
