We’ve had a question posted on social media for the past couple days, asking folks what they’d cross off their bucket list if they won tonight’s Powerball jackpot (estimated $750 million annuity, $465.5 million lump-sum option). The answers have been off-the-charts awesome!
A woman named Angie just replied with a GIF of an airplane flying all around the world. A woman named Mindy said she would go to see every volcano in the world. A guy named Chris said he’d immediately donate at least $250K to his favorite charity. A woman named Jaci said she’d take a “long, long, long sandy vacation.”
The answers just kept getting better:
Linda said she’d buy her town a new water tower with the community’s name on it and use her winnings to save the bees. Brandon said he’d use his winnings to buy land so he could make his own neighborhood for his family. Brian said he’d just enjoy being worry free about finances.
Heidi said she’d help stray animals. Jamilynn said she’d buy a huge building and turn it into a homeless shelter while also paying for college for her own children and nieces and nephews. Rick said he’d do whatever he wanted. Christian is looking forward to a flying Ironman suit and a personal space shuttle.
As always, Iowans’ generosity came through in their answers, with person after person saying they’d help family and friends, charity, their church and their community.
One of the most creative answers I saw was from a man named Scott, who applied a little psychology to the situation: If he wins the Powerball jackpot tonight, he says he’ll be able to cross winning the lottery off his bucket list. Well played, Scott. Well played!
