Hi, Jay. There are several factors involved, but sales are a predominant driver of the jackpot. So one game may have slightly higher sales for a particular drawing. Interest rates also factor in for the return that can be achieved for an annuity jackpot amount.

Sure would be a nice Christmas present for me and my family (even extended) family.

Whenever the jackpots are this close, is there any particular reason why one may climb faster than the other? Both seem to offer the same jurisdictions across the country (Powerball being the exception with Puerto Rico). I'm sure the state lottery commissions have access to interesting data metrics that are not available to the public. Thanks!
