InstaPlay Promotion Ending Tonight

Please note that the InstaPlay promotion underway since last week is ending at 11:59 p.m. tonight.

The “player bonus” promotion has been so popular, it quickly ran through the free plays allotted for it. The free plays had been expected to last through early May, but player demand for them had surged.

From now through 11:59 p.m. tonight, for every 10th ticket purchased statewide in the JACKPOT PARTY® Progressive game, the lottery terminal or self-service kiosk will automatically generate a free play in the $30 Super 7s Progressive InstaPlay game.

You’ll hear the “Surprise, player bonus!” sound from the machine as the free play is printed. Both plays are yours – the $10 ticket you bought and the $30 ticket you won for free.

Remember, not every 10th ticket purchased from a specific location or lottery machine is eligible for a free play. It’s every 10th ticket purchased statewide, so the free-play bonus has been hitting in stores all across Iowa.

Ralph and Victor: We'll have to agree to disagree. In this instance, the InstaPlay promotion ended up being more popular than we had expected. An allocation of plays was dedicated to the promotion, and even with our best estimates, what we thought would be a month's supply of free plays was generated in about a week. It's similar to when a restaurant has a particular meal on special: Sometimes the supply of that particular special runs out before the end of the day. In this case, a lot of people all across the state got free plays in the InstaPlay promotion, and that's a good thing.

Hi, Colleen. Remember, the promotion did not apply to every 10 tickets sold from a particular machine or in a particular store. It was for every 10th ticket sold statewide. And, if you were buying tickets on April 18, the promotion had ended the day before, as this blog entry details.

The first free ticket I won at a Caseys store was kept by the store! After that I would have to explain to the clerks what was going on with it so I could receive my bonus, otherwise it was interesting. I do have to say my friend and I went on a road trip 04/18 and took turns buying 10 ticket apiece at several stops and didn't get 1 free bonus! Leaves me wondering whats up.

As a loyal and frequent insta play player I am extremely frustrated and disgusted with the Iowa Lottery for having discontinuing this promotion before the advertised end date. Shame on the Iowa Lottery!
