Five lucky lottery players won travel getaways today in “Destination Iowa”!

We conducted the drawing in the promotion this morning, selecting the prize winners of gift cards to five vacation spots in the state. And those lucky folks are:
 
• Frank Rasko of Indianola, who won a getaway to Honey Creek Resort State Park on Rathbun Lake in south-central Iowa.
• Donna Hartman of West Burlington, who won a getaway to Café Dodici and Dodici Night Suite in Washington.
• Ronald Gunnare of Davenport, who won a getaway to the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City.
• Kelli Ruth of Orient, who won a getaway to King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort in Storm Lake.
• Katie Ehler of Holstein, who won a getaway to Harrah’s Council Bluffs Casino and Hotel.

The “Destination Iowa” winners each get a $300 gift card to the vacation spot they chose in the drawing. Players made more than 116,000 entries in the promotion from March 6 through Monday.    

Beautiful, Busy Weekend of FUN!

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend! So, while you’re out and about enjoying Iowa’s beautiful (if belated) springtime, don’t forget these lottery details: 

If you want to enter for a chance to win a $300 gift card to one of five Iowa getaways in our Destination Iowa promotion, time is running out!

You have until noon on Monday to get your nonwinning Bass Pro Shops® scratch tickets entered online in your VIP Club account. That’s the ticket that lets you pick which of the five fabulous destinations you’d like to visit. There’s Honey Creek Resort State Park on Rathbun Lake in South-central Iowa, Café Dodici and Dodici Night Suite in Washington, Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City, King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort in Storm Lake or Harrah’s Council Bluffs Casino and Hotel.

The five Destination Iowa winners will be drawn on Wednesday. So keep your fingers crossed!

And, as if that’s not enough fun for you, some big jackpots are on the line this weekend, too! Tonight’s Mega Millions® jackpot is at an estimated $103 million. And Saturday’s jackpots for Hot Lotto® and Powerball® are big, too. Hot Lotto is at an estimated $5.28 million and Powerball has reached an estimated $140 million! Man, that’s a lot of dough!

We’re heading to the “Bass Pro Shops®” stores in Altoona and Council Bluffs next weekend, so join us there to get in on some fun!   

It’s all tied to the “Destination Iowa” promotion we kicked off March 6, which offers $300 gift cards to each of these Iowa vacation spots: Honey Creek Resort State Park on Rathbun Lake in south-central Iowa; Café Dodici and Dodici Night Suite in Washington; the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City; King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort in Storm Lake; and Harrah’s Council Bluffs Casino and Hotel.

The game that will get you into the promotion is the new $5 “Bass Pro Shops®” instant-scratch game that also started sales March 6. And that’s where our special events next weekend come into play.

We’ll be at the Bass Pro Shops stores in Altoona and Council Bluffs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. We’ll have an awesome game you can play to win a merchandise prize, and can give you all the details about Destination Iowa!

Anyone 21 and older who buys $10 in Bass Pro Shops scratch tickets at our events will be able to play a “Bass Bucket” game. After purchasing your tickets, you’ll get a voucher to present to the person running the game and have three chances to cast a line into the buckets. Every fisher participant wins a merchandise prize, whether you make it in a bucket or not!

Destination Iowa: Your Chance To Explore!

Thoughts of spring have us itching to get out and about here at the lottery! And, figuring that you're feeling the same way, we're giving you the chance to win a trip package for an Iowa getaway!

We're kicking off the "Destination Iowa" promotion today along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Iowa Tourism Office. The promotion started at noon today, offering $300 gift cards to each of these Iowa vacation spots: Honey Creek Resort State Park on Rathbun Lake in south-central Iowa; Café Dodici and Dodici Night Suite in Washington; the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City; King's Pointe Waterpark Resort in Storm Lake; and Harrah's Council Bluffs Casino and Hotel.

The promotion is tied to our new $5 "Bass Pro Shops®" instant-scratch game that also started sales today. If you don't win an instant prize playing the game, you can enter that non-winning ticket in the Destination Iowa promotion. You'll be able to choose which trip drawing you want to use your ticket to enter.

You can enter the promotion through noon on April 29. On May 1, we'll hold drawings to determine the promotion's winners.

• Honey Creek Resort State Park (redeemable for hotel accommodations, golf or water passes and dining)
• Café Dodici and Dodici Night Suite (redeemable for hotel accommodations, dining and gift shop)

• King's Pointe Waterpark Resort (redeemable for hotel accommodations, waterpark passes and dining)
• Harrah's Council Bluffs Casino and Hotel (redeemable for hotel accommodations, dining, shopping and live entertainment).

To enter the promotion, you'll need to join or already be a member of our free VIP Club. The promotion rules are available on our website and the drawing results also will be posted there.

To enter a ticket, go to the promotion page on our website. There, you'll click on the "Enter Here" button to enter the 10-digit entry number from the front of a nonwinning Bass Pro Shops scratch ticket along with the ticket number from the back.
